The expedition will take place during March 2008 preceded by 13 months of training and preparation. 

During this time, team members will:

• Learn about their destination
• Research the expedition objectives with the support of their School Programme Manager and Expedition Programme Manager from World Challenge
• Take part in fundraising activities to raise the necessary money for the project

Full involvement will continue during the expedition itself when students' take on responsibility for:

• Leading the team
• Managing the budget
• Liaising with local guides
• Successfully achieving their objectives.  

The whole programme will teach and develop essential transferable life skills including financial management, leadership, teamwork, communication, organisation and decision making.
